چکیده

This document explores an ambiguity in the interpretation of the element of the Presence Information Data Format for Location Objects (PIDF-LO) in cases where PIDF-LO is conveyed by the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). It provides recommendations for how the SIP location conveyance mechanism should adapt to this ambiguity. Documents standardizing the SIP location conveyance mechanisms will be Standards-Track documents processed according to the usual SIP process. This document is intended primarily to provide the SIP working group with a statement of the consensus of the GEOPRIV working group on this topic. It secondarily provides tutorial information on the problem space for the general reader.

Modeling chaotic behaviour of SIP retransmission mechanism

The SIP retransmission mechanism can cause SIP network collapse with short term overload. In this paper, we investigate with a fluid modeling approach the chaotic behaviour of the SIP retransmission mechanism in SIP networks. We capture the complex correlation structure in SIP systems through a detailed and novel queuing analysis. To dimension a buffer size which can avoid unnecessary message d...

بهبود کارایی پروتکلSIP در شرایط اضافه بار با استفاده از قابلیت مبتنی بر پنجره

The extent and diversity of systems provided by IP networks have made various technologies to approach integrating various types of access networks and converting to next generation network. The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) with respect to facilities such as being in text form, end-to-end connection, independence from the type of transmitted data, and supporting various forms of transmissi...

Impact of Retransmission Mechanism on SIP Overload: Stability Condition and Overload Control

SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) has been widely adopted as a signaling protocol to establish, modify and terminate media sessions between end-users in the Internet. SIP introduces a retransmission mechanism to ensure the reliability of its real-time message delivery. However, retransmission can make server overload worse, leading to server crashes in SIP-based carrier networks (e.g. Skype). I...
